Navy officers have welcomed a new furry friend into their ranks after saving it from floodwaters in Tabasco, Mexico.
A team found the stranded animal while riding a boat past homes that were partially submerged in water. The Secretara de Marina (Mexican Marine Secretariat) posted a video of the rescue on its Facebook page on Nov. 15.
The authorities spotted the dog standing on its hind legs in the floodwater while using its front paws to lean on a window frame. Once the boat neared the dog, an officer gently petted it before helping it get aboard the small boat.
