‘Ulysses’ death toll climbs to 67

THE death toll from Typhoon Ulysses (international name Vamco) rose to 67 with dozens still missing, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Sunday.

Cagayan Valley reported 22 fatalities, while Central Luzon and the Cordillera Administrative Region had two and 10 deaths, respectively.

NDRRMC spokesman Mark Timbal said Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) reported 17 deaths, Metro Manila, eight and Bicol, eight.

Timbal said 21 persons were injured and 12 remain missing.

Damage to agriculture was pegged at P1.19 billion while damage to infrastructure was placed at P469.7 million.
