NBI files complaint vs Bacolod health officer over coronavirus testing numbers

BACOLOD CITY—The National of Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has filed a complaint against the city’s health officer for alleged discrepancies in reporting results of coronavirus tests from the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital to the city’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

Renoir Baldovino, NBI Bacolod chief, asked the prosecutor’s office to charge Dr. Ma. Carmela Gensoli with violating two laws—Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act and the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act.

The complaint by Baldovino said the failure to report data to the city’s EOC slowed the city’s response to COVID-19.
