LPA east of PH dissipates, but ITCZ still affects Southern Mindanao

MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area (LPA) east of the country has dissipated as of Wednesday, although state meteorologists expect the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) to continue affecting southern parts of Mindanao.

Weather reports from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that Mindanao and Visayas may still experience isolated rains, with thunderstorms being more intense in Mindanao due to the ITCZ.

For Luzon and other parts of the country, the easterlies or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean would continue bringing hot and humid weather, which can also result into short and isolated thunderstorms.
