MANILA, Philippines – The community pantry fever has really taken root in the Philippines.

Last Saturday and Sunday, Mandaluyong City witnessed a food donation movement event that popped up on one of its busy streets, thanks to the efforts of a young man.

Interestingly, the organizer, Migz Fernando, hails from Pasig. He made a trip to Sheridan Street in Mandaluyong last Saturday, met up with the Buayang Bato Barangay officials for coordination – and a food pantry was born.

“We just started last week,” he said, hoping he could keep the food pantry project going.
