ZAMBOANGA CITY, Zamboanga del Sur —- A barangay official was shot dead while he was about to enter a fast-food chain in Isabela City, Basilan province Monday, May 10.
The Isabela City police reported that Jamirun J. Amigos, chief of Barangay Marang in Sumisip town, was walking towards Jollibee for a late lunch when an unidentified suspect shot him in his head, resulting in his instantaneous death.
Amigos, also known as Jamirun Ajijon, and three others, were arrested on Jan. 28 for a case of murder based on a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Leo Jay Principe, Regional Trial Court 9th Judicial Region Branch 1 in Isabela City.
