MANILA, Philippines — Senate President Vicente Sotto III received the CoronaVac COVID-19 vaccine made by the Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinovac Biotech on Saturday at the Senate.
In a text message to reporters, Sotto said he got the Sinovac shot after Senate employees under the A1, A2, and A3 priority groups were given the jab.
“After A1, A2, and A3 Senate Employees, finally had mine although I’m A2,” Sotto said.
“I took what was available upon arrival. Had Sinovac!” he added.
Photos sent by Sotto showed the Senate President receiving the injection on his left arm, as he was accompanied by his wife, actress Helen Gamboa.
