MANILA, Philippines — Severe Tropical Storm Surigae may enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) earlier than initially predicted, between Thursday night or Friday morning according to state meteorologists.
Latest updates from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Thursday afternoon showed that Surigae was last located 1,140 kilometers east of Mindanao.
Surigae’s maximum sustained winds are now at 95 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center, while its gustiness is at 115 kph. It is moving slowly on a north northwest track, which may indicate that it would generate more strength due to prolonged stay over waters….
