MANILA, Philippines — The service interruption experienced by PLDT customers in Rizal province on Sunday was traced to a cut fiber optic line in Antipolo City, which the company said was because of excavation activities done by contractors of DITO Telecommunity.
According to PLDT, the fiber cut affected several areas in Rizal. Restoration of the affected line is slated to be completed by 5:00 p.m. of Sunday. However, it was completed ahead of time, at around 2:00 p.m.
“Some PLDT customers in parts of Rizal may experience intermittent internet services because of a fiber cut due to excavation activities by one of DITO’s contractors,” PLDT said in a post.
