SC asks lawyers to avoid discussing anti-terror law case to media

MANILA, Philippines — The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday requested the parties involved in the ongoing oral arguments on the contentious anti-terrorism law to stop talking to the media as the case is still being resolved.

SC Chief Justice Diosdado Peralta made the appeal right before Tuesday’s oral arguments adjourned, noting that there are lawyers who have taken part in television interviews and have shared their opinion and the merits of the case.

“We would like to ask the lawyers to please refrain from being interviewed while these cases are pending resolution. You know the effect when one goes to the media and discusses his positions, it might affect the outcome of these cases…
