San Juan logs 133 new active COVID-19 cases in 10 days

MANILA, Philippines — The number of active COVID-19 cases in San Juan City has risen by 133 in a span of just 10 days, its mayor said Thursday.

San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora said the city has 196 active cases as of Wednesday, March 10.

“Last Feb.. 17, we were down to just 30 active cases and then Mar. 1, we had 63. So from Mar. 1 to Mar. 10, we had an increase of 133 cases and of course this is very, very high compared to what we’ve been experiencing in the past few months, in fact we expected a surge during the holidays, which did not happen,” he said in an interview on ABS-CBN News Channel.
