Samuel E. Wright, Sebastian’s voice in ‘The Little Mermaid,’ dies at 74

Legendary voice actor Samuel E. Wright, most known for giving life to Sebastian the Crab in “The Little Mermaid,” has passed away at 74 years old.

Wright died after three years of battling prostate cancer, his daughter Dee disclosed in an exclusive report by The Hollywood Reporteron May 25.

He peacefully passed away last Monday, May 24, at his home in Walden, New York, in the United States.

Wright provided the iconic Trinidadian voice of Sebastian in the Disney classic “The Little Mermaid” in 1989, as well as the two later sequels: “The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea” in 2000 and “The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Beginning” in 2008.
