SAN ANTONIO, Zambales —- A returning overseas Filipino worker (OFW) from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) days after she was released from a quarantine facility in Metro Manila.
Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said the OFW is a 31-year-old woman who arrived in the country on Feb. 22 and underwent the mandatory quarantine.
But after initially testing negative based on her real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test, the woman was discharged from the quarantine facility despite exhibiting some symptoms of the disease, such as cold and fever.
