Rebel surrenders cache of firearms in Palawan town

CITY OF CALAPAN — A member of the News People’s Army (NPA) surrendered high powered firearms on Sunday morning at Brooke’s Point in Palawan province, according to a report from Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan police office.

Elmer Likbong, aka “Ka Jeboy,” surrendered at about 7:50 a.m. a cache of firearms after series of debriefing following his surrender, said police.

Likbong turned over an Armscor 12 gauge shotgun, two M16 Elisco rifles, an aluminum short magazine, and a plastic long magazine.

The recovered firearms were initially kept and buried by Jose Maria Masong, aka “Ka Degret,” sometime in 2014.
