MANILA, Philippines — Rain or Shine cruised to its second straight win at the expense of Blackwater, 71-62, in the PBA Philippine Cup Sunday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
The Elasto Painters climbed to the top of the standings with a 2-0 record while the Bossing are in the inverse with a 0-2 card.
Banking on its defensive resiliency, Rain or Shine limited Blackwater to just 10 fourth quarter points on a paltry 2-of-16 shooting.
“Our defensive identity carried us tonight,” said Painters head coach Chris Gavina. “Although it was a low-scoring game, we had to have the disposition on the defensive end.”
