PNP records 158 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported 158 new cases of COVID-19 and one more fatality, bringing its death toll to 57 as of May 4.

The PNP Health Service (PNPHS) has updated its COVID-19 case count to 20,769, including 1,626 with active status.

The latest death in the PNP was a 31-year-old police corporal assigned in Nueva Ecija, according to PNP Chief Police General Debold Sinas.

Earlier, Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, the PNP deputy chief for administration, said the noncommissioned officer was assigned to the Central Luzon Police Regional Office.
