MANILA, Philippines — More than 95,000 violations of the requirement to wear face masks were recorded from May 17 to May 30, Interior Secretary Eduardo Ao reported Monday.
According to Ao, there were 95,357 violations recorded during the time frame, with most of the violators being given warnings.
In his report, Ao said that of the violators 50,204 were warned, 34,683 were fined, 6,813 were directed to do community service, and 3,657 were arrested.
Aside from this, Ao said there were also 1,697 violations of the prohibition on mass gatherings and 28.553 violations of physical distancing rules.
