MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Leni Robredo on Thursday urged Filipino Muslims to “cherish” bonds strengthened by actions of “solidarity, kindness [and] justice” as they celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan amid restrictions triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“As you each end your fasts, cherish these bonds and remember that as we maintain our physical distance, the spiritual ties that bind us tighten with every act of communal responsibility,” said Robredo, who wished the Muslim community a “joyous” Eid’l Fitr.
