MANILA, Philippines — While the COVID-19 reproduction number in Metro Manila has decreased, the OCTA Research group said Saturday it still recommends extending the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) over NCR Plus for another week.
In its report on Saturday, OCTA said the COVID-19 reproduction rate in Metro Manila already decreased to 1.23 from 1.88 before the region and its adjacent provinces were placed under ECQ.
“The ECQ has been effective in reducing the growth rate and reproduction number in the NCR. There is hope that the NCR will be on a downward trend by next week,” the group said.
