NTC urged to file resolution before SC to collect P2.56B from telco

MANILA, Philippines — Amid the government’s need to find and realign funds for the COVID-19 response, a policy think tank has prodded the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) to file an Early Resolution in the Supreme Court in order to collect P2.56 billion from a telecommunications firm.

Citing a report from the Commission on Audit (COA), Infrawatch PH convener Terry Ridon said the amount to be collected from Next Mobile Inc.—formerly named NOW Telecom Company Inc—has already ballooned to over P2.56 billion.
