MANILA, Philippines — A new low-pressure area (LPA) has formed 2,055 kilometers (kms) east of Mindanao, according to the state weather bureau, but it will not affect the country’s weather system for now as it may not be entering the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) any time soon.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its 5 p.m.forecast that the new LPA off Mindanao won’t be entering the PAR within the next 36 hours.
