BACOLOD CITY — Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson will issue an executive order on Monday to impose more stringent measures to slow down the spread of COVID-19 cases in Negros Occidental.

Lacson met with the Negros Occidental mayors on Friday, June 11, to discuss the call of the medical community for immediate action against the COVID-19.

The mayors agreed to strengthen border control between Negros Occidental and Oriental to prevent the entry of non-essential travelers, but travel between Panay and Negros will be allowed.

Lacson said the executive order will also require persons 18 years and below to stay home.

He also called on residents to continue observing the health protocols.
