MANILA, Philippines — The government has downgraded the quarantine classification over Metro Manila and four of its adjacent provinces to a less stringent modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) starting Monday, April 12 , Presidential spokesman Harry Roque announced Sunday.
In an announcement over state-run PTV, Roque said that the MECQ period in Metro Manila, Cavite, Bulacan, Laguna and Rizal will end on April 30.
Areas under MECQ also include the city of Santiago in Quirino province, and Abra.
