The city government of Navotas gave P5,000 cash aid to each health worker in recognition of their invaluable service during the pandemic.
Mayor Tobias Tiangco approved the release of P1.04 million for members of the Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams.
He said that some 208 barangay health workers who have rendered services for at least three months received the cash assistance.
“Since day-one of the pandemic, our barangay health workers have been at the frontlines, risking their life to keep us healthy and safe. They have been invaluable in our fight against Covid-19,” Tiangco said.
“This cash assistance, though meager compared to their sacrifices, is our way of recognizing and rewarding their steadfast service. We also hope it will make their Christmas merrier,” he added.
