Monday’s highest: 45°C heat index noted in Dagupan City, Sangley Point

MANILA, Philippines — The highest heat index on Monday, May 24, was 45C, which was recorded at 2:00 p.m. in Dagupan City in Pangasinan and at Sangley Point in Cavite, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Pagasa defines the heat index as the “human discomfort index” — the temperature as perceived by the human body.

The other areas that had high heat indexes are:
* Aparri in Cagayan with 44C
* Davao City in Davao del Sur, Itbayat in Batanes, and Legazpi City in Albay with 43C
