MANILA, Philippines — Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. said he would only lodge a diplomatic protest against the reported presence of around 220 Chinese maritime militia in a West Philippine Sea reef upon the recommendation of the military.

“Still waiting for the order to fire. I listen only to Generals, never media or an NTF (national task force) press release which amounts to nothing. Only a shot from DFA (Department of Foreign Affairs) counts,” Locsin said over Twitter on Sunday.
