Israel summons PH envoy over UNHRC vote for probe into Gaza violence, abuses

MANILA, Philippines — Israel’s foreign ministry has summoned the Philippines’ ambassador to the Middle Eastern country over Manila’s “unacceptable” vote favoring an international probe into alleged human rights violations and abuses in Gaza.

In a statement released Sunday (May 30), the ministry said Philippine Ambassador to Israel Macairog Alberto was summoned for a “clarification discussion” regarding the country’s vote before the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).
