Governor seeks two-week moratorium on travel to Negros Occidental

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines — Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson has requested the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF- EID) to allow a two-week travel moratorium on all land, air, and sea travel into the province amid the rising number of COVID-19 cases.

“I believe that this is imperative in order to protect our constituents, our local economy, and our future as a province,” Lacson said in a letter addressed to Health Secretary Francisco Duque III and Cabinet Secretary Carlo Nograles, co-chairpersons of the IATF-EID.
