TACLOBAN CITY —- Some local government units in Eastern Visayas have decided to cancel work and classes on Monday, Feb. 8, due to heavy rains spawned by a low-pressure area (LPA) east of Mindanao.
In Tacloban City, Mayor Alfred Romualdez issued an executive order early Monday, suspending both classes and work in public and private offices in the city due to bad weather that has caused flooding in several parts of the city.
As part of the order, the city mayor directed personnel of the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, traffic office, and rescue unit to be on alert for any possibilities that may arise due to the inclement weather.
