MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.9 earthquake struck the waters off Davao Occidental on Monday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The earthquake was recorded at 6:13 a.m. at 269 kilometers southeast of Sarangani town.
The tremor was of tectonic origin, and had a 57-kilometer depth of focus, Phivolcs said.
No aftershocks or damage to infrastructure are expected, Phivolcs added.
