Country star Dolly Parton got her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and even changed the lyrics of her song “Jolene” for the event.
Parton, 75, received a Moderna shot at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, yesterday, March 2.
“Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, I’m begging of you, please don’t hesitate,” Parton sang in a video posted on Twitter prior to getting inoculated in Vanderbilt.

The singer described her vaccine experience as “Dolly gets a dose of her own medicine,” in reference to her $1-million donation to Vanderbilt, which worked with Moderna to develop a vaccine.
