MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) said Wednesday that the plateau of Covid-19 cases that was observed in February was “broken” by a spike of fresh Covid-19 cases.
“The plateauing trend seen in the past month was broken by a spike in new Covid cases this week nationally,” Dr. Alethea de Guzman, a medical specialist at the DOH Epidemiology Bureau, said in an online media forum.
According to De Guzman, the DOH has observed a continued increase of Covid-19 cases specifically in Metro Manila, Central Visayas, and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
