MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) reported on Wednesday an additional 158 deaths due to COVID-19, raising the fatality count to 23,121.
According to the DOH, the deaths account for 1.73 percent of all the 1.33 million confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country. Of this number, 56,170 cases remain active.
The latest data from the DOH showed that of the active cases, 1.9 percent are severe and 1.3 percent are critical or are at a higher risk of death.
Based on previous case bulletins from the Health Department, a total of 933 COVID-19 deaths has been reported from June 10 to 16, or an average of 133 additional deaths per day.
