MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) said Saturday it intends to meet with the OCTA Research to discuss their different computations on the case fatality rate (CFR) for COVID-19 cases.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said the DOH has already reached out to the interdisciplinary research group to inquire on how it came up with a 5.4 percent CFR for Metro Manila in the past two weeks, when the DOH pegs the CFR in the region to be at only 1.46 percent.
“We intend to meet with them with our experts and our epidemiologists para magkaroon ng (so that we can have a) unified messaging,” Vergeire said during the Laging Handa public briefing.
