MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has asked the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for a refund over alleged lapses in the implementation of the national government’s “Free Wi-Fi for All National Program.”
During the hearing of the House committee on good government and public accountability, DICT Undersecretary Manny Caintic said the move was in accordance with the orders of Malacaang.
“Upon the orders of Malacaang, we have initiated discussions and we have already notified UNDP for the return of the funds that were not yet used,” Caintic said.
