MANILA, Philippines — Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Guillermo Eleazar on Wednesday said thatsufficient evidence, and not mere guesswork, is needed to prove abuse of power on the part of police officers before a case can be filed against them.
Speaking in an interview over ABS-CBN News Channel, Eleazar said that while the PNP does not tolerate any misconduct among its ranks, legal procedure requires proof of lapses in the conduct of an operation that resulted in the death of a suspect.
