MANILA, Philippines — Twenty-six more Filipinos overseas have contracted COVID-19, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Tuesday, bringing total infections to 18,416 including 5,980 active cases as of May 4.
The DFA also reported the recovery of 12 Filipino COVID-19 patients abroad, pushing the tally of recovered cases to 11,289.
Meanwhile, the death toll stays at 1,147 as no new deaths have been recorded of late, according to the DFA.
The agency said the infected Filipinos are found in 94 countries around the globe: 10,453 cases in the Middle East and Africa, 3,597 in the Asia-Pacific region, 3,385 in Europe, and 981 in the Americas.
