MANILA, Philippines — Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel’s faction within PDP-Laban is tied to the idea of endorsing Senator Manny Pacquiao as the party’s standard-bearer in 2022, thus, creating a rift within the group, expelled PDP-Laban acting Secretary-General Melvin Matibag said.
“Ang may problema po talaga, sila. Sapagka’t nakatali na lang po sila sa isang kandidato na si Senator Pacquiao,” Matibag said in an online interview with reporters Wednesday.
(The one with the problem is them. Because they’re tied down to one candidate, that’s Senator Pacquiao.)
