MANILA, Philippines — The number of overseas Filipinos who tested positive for Covid-19 climbed to 14,389 cases as the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported 348 new infections on Thursday.
“The reported spike is due to [an] increase in cases in Europe as well as late reports owing to privacy concerns in the Middle East and Africa,” the DFA said.
DFA figures showed that of the 14,389, some 4,383 are still undergoing treatment while 9,052 have already recovered, including 88 new recoveries.
Meanwhile, no new fatalities have been reported. The death toll remains at 954.
