MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines’ COVID-19 death toll surpassed the 8,000-mark on Friday as 27 new deaths were recorded, the Department of Health (DOH) said.
The latest figure from the DOH showed that the total number of fatalities is now at 8,025. Meanwhile, the country’s coronavirus caseload stands at 415,067 with 1,639 additional infections.
The DOH’s record for the total number of recoveries also soared to 375,237 after 305 recovery cases were added to the total.
