COVID-19 cases in Quezon province continue to drop

LUCENA CITY —- The number of active coronavirus disease (COVID-19) carriers in Quezon province continued to decline, authorities reported Tuesday.

In its 5 p.m. bulletin on Dec. 22, the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) disclosed that the remaining virus carriers in the province have dropped to 500.

The province’s highest tally on active COVID-19 cases was 1,119 on Nov. 12. It fell to 760 by the end of November.

Lucena City, the provincial capital, is also showing a similar trend in its daily tally of active COVID-19 cases.

As of Tuesday, the city now has only 72 active virus carriers. The highest tally in the city was 279 on Oct. 21. It fell to 147 on Nov. 30.
