LEGAZPI CITY —- A 26-year-old man was wounded after being shot by a police officer in Bato town in Camarines Sur province on Tuesday night.
Staff Sergeant James Iglopas, Bato police investigator, said the 33-year-old cop caught his wife in bed with the victim in Barangay Santiago at 11:35 p.m.
Iglopas said the cop stopped the victim from escaping and drew his 9-mm pistol.
As the cop and the lover struggled for possession of the gun, the firearm discharged, and the lover was shot on the right thigh.
The victim was taken to a hospital in Nabua town for medical treatment while the police officer surrendered to the police.
