MANILA, Philippines — The country is set to experience cloudy skies with a chance of rain due to isolated thunderstorms, a day after the state weather service declared the onset of the rainy season.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), in its Sunday afternoon bulletin, said this is due to the habagat or the southwest monsoon prevailing in Luzon and parts of Visayas, while the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) prevails in entire Mindanao.
