MANILA, Philippines—Church leaders added their voices to growing condemnation of the killing of a woman and her son by a policeman in Tarlac province last week, a case caught on video that has gone viral on social media.
In a report by the online news arm of Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), Bishop Oscar Jaime Florencio, of the Military Ordinariate of the Philippines, said the killing of Sonya Gregorio, 52, and her 25-year-old son, Frank Anthony, by Senior MSgt Jonel Nuezca, their neighbor, in Tarlac was “uncalled for.”
