MANILA, Philippines — The world-renowned white sand beach of Boracay is now open to tourists from the so-called NCR Plus bubble, the local government of Malay in Aklan province announced Tuesday.
In a Facebook post, the Malay Tourism Office (MTO) said residents from Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal, which are currently under general community quarantine (GCQ) “with heightened restrictions”, can go to Boracay starting June 1 until June 15.
“If NCR+ becomes plain GCQ after June 15, it would be a continuous takeoff. If NCR+ goes up again to MECQ, it may stop leisure movements again,” it said.
