Bicol anti-drug operations: Village chief killed, 4 arrested

LEGAZPI CITY—A village chief was killed while four other suspects were arrested in a series of operations by police to serve search warrants in two Bicol provinces—Camarines Sur and Albay—on Friday (March 26).

 

Maj. Louie de la Pea, chief of community affairs development of the Camarines Sur police, said Elmer Casabuena, 50, the village chief of Nino Jesus in Iriga City, was killed when he fired at police officers serving a search warrant for drugs and guns at his house around 1 a.m.

 

De la Pea said Casabuena was tagged as a high-value target and was on a drug watch list.
