SELF-MADE businesswoman and basketball coach Haydee Ong holds court in the 15th session of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) online national summit on May 26.

Ms. Ong, former national team coach and head coach of the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigresses and the Enderun Lady Titans, will talk about business and sports, drawing from her experience as co-owner of the sporting goods company Sol.

She will share her journey on how lessons and values from doing sports helped her build the foundation needed to venture into business and take on the challenges that went with it.

Apart from her sporting goods business and head coaching jobs, Ms. Ong is also involved with the Women’s National Basketball League, which is targeted to kick off its inaugural season as a professional league this year.

The online PSC summit is aimed at taking insights of different sports stakeholders and using them as foundations in crafting a sustainable and workable short to long-term plan for Philippine sports.

The PSC said all data gathered from the web series will be processed and studied to create a new set of resolutions to be presented to sports leaders for action. — Michael Angelo S. Murillo
