Army soldiers donate meal allowance to Auring victims in Caraga

LUCENA CITY — Soldiers from the Philippine Army’s 2nd Infantry Division based in Tanay, Rizal has again donated a part of their daily meal allowance to help typhoon victims in the Caraga region.

Captain Jayrald Ternio, head of the 2nd ID public information office, in a press release Saturday said the soldiers collected a total of P140,000 to help the families affected by storm “Auring” (international name: Dujuan) in the region.

The humanitarian gesture by the troopers was in response to the call for donations initiated by the Jungle Fighter Ladies’ Club (JFLC) for the typhoon victims, Ternio said.
