ORMOC CITY — A retired policeman was shot to death by still unidentified assailants in Barugo town, Leyte at around 7:45 a.m. on Saturday.
Joselito Panis, 51, had just boarded his Mitsubishi Adventure when the perpetrators on board a black Toyota Fortuner without any plate number shot him.
The victim’s wife was also hit by a stray bullet on the foot and was brought to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to Police Major Rey Cabelin, chief of the Barugo Police Station.
Cabelin said the victim made an optional retirement form service two years ago after his name was included in the so-called narco list.
