Amihan affecting Cagayan Valley, N. Luzon; new LPA likely to enter PAR on Sunday

MANILA, Philippines — Overcast skies and rain are likely over Cagayan Valley and other areas in Northern Luzon on Thursday due to the northeast monsoon or amihan.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services (Pagasa) said this Wednesday afternoon as it predicts the northeast monsoon would also bring slightly colder weather in Laoag and Legazpi, while easterlies or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean may cause rains in the eastern portions of Visayas and Mindanao.

It also said that the “tail end of a frontal system” has already ceased to affect the country’s weather.
